Injecting personality and play into a historic building.
Whitepaper was brought on to breathe new life into 75 Bermondsey Street, transforming a building with untapped potential into a vibrant, contemporary workplace full of character. The project encompassed a full building redevelopment, including façade enhancements, CAT B fit-outs, end-of-journey amenities, and a CAT A+ plug-and-play floor, creating a seamless and engaging experience from arrival to daily use.
The design concept drew inspiration from the energy and character of Bermondsey Street itself. We unlocked the building’s potential with a bold burst of petrol blue on the façade and key interior elements, giving the asset real kerb appeal and a distinct identity. The area’s rich textile history informed the palette and detailing, exploring woven and textured materials through finishes, furniture, and playful accents. Statement features such as playful tiling and a petrol blue ceiling act as focal points, while the remaining palette is restrained to ensure balance and cohesion throughout the space.
Internally, the building offers flexible, light-filled floorplates and carefully considered circulation, supporting modern ways of working. By combining heritage context with playful detailing and high-quality finishes, the workspace feels energetic, contemporary, and distinctly Bermondsey.
The completed project positions 75 Bermondsey Street as a market-ready, design-led building that celebrates its history while injecting personality, functionality, and vibrancy, enhancing tenant experience and leasing appeal.
