Injecting personality and play into a historic building
Store Property appointed Whitepaper to reimagine 75 Bermondsey Street, taking a building with great potential but lacking charisma and transforming it into a vibrant, contemporary workplace.
The project involved a full building redevelopment, including façade enhancements, CAT B fit-outs, end-of-journey amenities, and a CAT A+ plug-and-play floor, creating a cohesive and engaging experience for tenants from arrival to day-to-day use.
The design concept was inspired by the energy and character of Bermondsey Street itself. We unlocked the building’s full potential by introducing a bold burst of petrol blue to the façade and interior elements, giving the asset kerb appeal and a memorable identity. The area’s rich textile history informed the palette and detailing, with woven and textured materials interpreted through finishes, furniture, and playful accents. Carefully curated splashes of colour and statement features — including playful tiling and a petrol blue ceiling — create focal points and bring vibrancy to the space, while the rest of the palette is restrained to ensure balance and cohesion.
Internally, the building now offers flexible, light-filled floorplates and thoughtfully designed circulation, supporting modern ways of working. The combination of heritage context, playful detailing, and high-quality finishes delivers a workspace that feels energetic, contemporary, and unmistakably Bermondsey.
The completed project transforms 75 Bermondsey Street into a distinctive, market-ready building that celebrates its history while injecting personality, functionality, and design-led character, enhancing both tenant experience and leasing appeal.
